Studio

Concerns? Meet the team.

A studio that builds websites and games sounds like a studio that does neither properly. It is a fair thing to wonder before you hand anyone money, so here is the honest answer rather than a slogan.

The team

O

Oliver

Founder & Lead Developer

Builds the sites and the game. A booking flow and a dialogue tree are closer than they look: both are state machines a stranger has to be able to walk out of without help.

J

James

Graphic Designer

Draws the marks and everything that carries one. A logo that has to survive a browser tab and key art that has to survive a store thumbnail are the same problem: be recognisable at the size nobody designed for.

K

Kaj

Lead Writer & Tester

Writes the words, then tries to break them. Clients get copy that survives a stranger reading it. The game gets a script that survives a stranger playing it.

Same skill, two rooms

Every discipline here does the same work on both sides of the studio. The nouns change. The craft does not.

On a website Skill In a game
A checkout that nobody abandons Structure A puzzle that nobody rage-quits
Copy that survives being skimmed Writing Dialogue that survives being replayed
A booking form on a phone in the rain Interface A menu screen on a controller
Six browsers and a very old iPad Testing Every order a player might do things in
Who came, and what they did next Measurement Where they stopped, and why
Search results and a first impression Getting found A store page and twenty seconds of footage

We have the skills to do both.

So we had the audacity to do both.

Brassneck /ˈbrɑːsnɛk/ British, informal. The nerve to do the thing you have not been given permission to do. Usually said with a degree of admiration.
