Websites that earn their keep.
We do
Design, build, and the parts nobody warns you about afterwards: being found, staying up, and knowing whether any of it worked.

What we do
Open any card for what it costs, or read the build prices in full below. We are not VAT registered, so there is no VAT to add to anything on this page.
What it costs
Prices are on the page because you were going to ask anyway, and because the half hour it takes to write a quote is a half hour neither of us gets back. Hosting, domain, SSL, backups and monitoring are included for the first twelve months on every build.
- Built mobile first
- Enquiry form that arrives in your inbox
- Analytics from day one
- First year’s hosting included
- Copy written with you, not handed to you
- Search basics done in the structure, not bolted on
- Form routing, analytics, the lot
- First year’s hosting included
- Quoted per project, in writing, before anything starts
- No hourly surprises at the end
- If it is not worth building we will say so
- First year’s hosting included
Keeping it alive
Our sites are hand written and static. There is no WordPress, so there are no plugins, no security treadmill, and nothing that falls over at 3am because something updated itself while you slept. These plans keep the site current, not upright.
What is not in the price: photography, licensed fonts, paid software, and anything with the word “portal” in it. Those get named and costed before they happen, never afterwards.
How it goes
Six steps, and you are told which one you are on every time. There is no stage where the site disappears for a fortnight and comes back finished. What we need from you is in the second column, because the thing that actually delays a build is almost never the building.

01
Half an hour
Free consultation
Half an hour, on the phone or in person, about what the site is for and who has to act on it. It sometimes ends with us saying you do not need one, or that the thing you actually need is a booking app somebody else already sells for a tenner a month.
From you: nothing. Not even a brief.

02
Week one
Planning and design
Structure first: what pages exist, what each one is for, and what you want somebody to do at the end of it. Then the look. Both are agreed before a line of code is written, because moving a page is cheap at this stage and expensive later.
From you: your logo and any photography you own, and an hour to look at the plan properly.
-
03
Weeks one to four
Development
Built by hand on a private link you can open any time and watch fill up. No staging password to remember, no screenshots emailed over, and no surprise at the end.
From you: your words, or an hour of talking while we write them for you.
-
04
Allow a week
Revisions and feedback
Two full rounds. You go through it on your own phone, in your own hands, and try to break it before anybody else gets the chance. Small changes after launch are not charged for.
From you: one list rather than six emails, if you can manage it.
-
05
One afternoon
Launch
Domain, SSL, analytics and the Google Business Profile link, all on from the first hour rather than switched on later when somebody asks how it is doing. We point the domain; you do not need to touch anything.
From you: your domain login, or permission for us to buy the domain for you.
-
06
Ongoing, from £20/mo
Maintenance, security and reports
Hosting, domain renewal, SSL, backups and uptime monitoring, plus a plain monthly page on who came, what they did, and the one thing we would change next. The first twelve months of hosting are included in the build.
From you: a reply when the report asks you a question.

Testimonials
Super happy with Brassneck Studio Ltd.
I didn’t want a standard website that looks like a hundred others. Ember8 has its own story and its own style, and the website really needed to reflect that.
Brassneck Studio Ltd created exactly the look and feel we wanted for Ember8: clean, powerful, professional, and a perfect match for who we are.
The hosting and service are excellent as well. The service doesn’t stop once the website goes live. Everything runs fast and smoothly, issues are resolved quickly, and any changes are handled without hassle. Great communication, very customer friendly, and they genuinely think along with you.
When I look at ember8.nl, I think: yes, this is us. And that might be the biggest compliment you can give a web designer.
Professional, reliable, and highly recommended. 5 out of 5.
